Legislation Affecting Dental Professionals

During the Maryland General Assembly session (January to April), MSDA members can receive a weekly MSDA Legislative Profile detailing the status of bills of interest to dental professionals.

In December, MSDA members will be offered the opportunity to be put on the e-mailing list for the MSDA Legislative Newsletter. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or recommendations regarding health legislation, contact Peter Holmes, peter@msda.com.

Dentist Day in Annapolis

Once a year, dentists go down to the State House to visit with their state legislators. This is an excellent opportunity for organized dentistry to come together and speak with one voice. The day begins with a breakfast briefing by the MSDA Legislative Chair, MSDA Staff and Lobbyist. After the briefing dentists go out and visit with their lawmakers and discuss issues important to oral health. Dentists Day finishes up with a lunch debriefing where we learn about the visits that took place and what follow-up needs to be done and with whom.
