Maryland State Dental Association

The Maryland State Dental Association represents and supports the dental profession in its efforts to provide high quality, ethical, oral health care to the public and is the professional association for dentists in the state of Maryland. It is a state branch or constituent society of the American Dental Association. There are also twelve chapters or component dental societies geographically located throughout Maryland.

The Maryland State Dental Association has been serving the dental community since 1883 in providing:

  • Educational Programs for all dental health professionals on compliance matters regarding:
    • Occupational Safety and Health Administration, (OSHA);
    • Maryland Occupational Safety and Health, (MOSH);
    • HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT , (HIPAA)
    • Center for Disease Control, (CDC)
    • P.A.N.D.A. –“Prevent Abuse Neglect through Dental Awareness” and elder abuse
  • Continuing Educational opportunities on:
    • Technical Advances in Dentistry
    • Pain Management
    • Most up-to-date and state-of-the-art dental techniques and equipment
  • Informational Programs for the Public such as:
    • National Children’s Health Month
    • Give Kids a Smile
    • Kids Fest
    • Oral Cancer Awareness Screenings
  • Patient Advocacy Programs
    • Find-a-dentist (dental referral service)
    • Peer Review Committee
